Brantley and his elk call

We are very often going over animal sounds with Brantley. He knows what sounds a horse, cow, duck, chicken, elephant, dog, cat, hyena, snake, fish, and more but the other day he made a sound we had not practiced with him. I have decided his favorite animal is an elk. If he sees the computer he says "elk" and we will usually watch 4 or 5 videos of elk on YouTube. But the other night we were doing Brantley's bed time routine and just about to pray when Brantley let out a sound we hadn't heard before. Both David and I looked at each other and said "was that an elk" to which Brantley replied "yeah" and continued giving us his elk sounds. The past couple of days have been filled with elk and we are loving it. But today I finally decided to try getting it on camera. Earlier today Brantley had thrown a piece of paper on the ground and I had asked him to pick it up. He told me no and so I gave him the option of going to sit in time out or he could pick up the paper. He chose to sit in time out. I told him that was fine but when he was done to come out he could pick up the paper and be done. So he happily sat down and looked at me and smiled. Then proceeded to make elk sounds. I thought it would be a good time to catch him so I grabbed my phone and started recording, but as soon as he saw it he said "see" meaning he wanted to see what I had just done. I told him I hadn't taken anything yet and there was nothing to see.

Brantley: see
Mom: there isn't anything to see I haven't recorded anything yet
Brantley: see
Mom: "no there isn't anything to see"
Brantley: more desperately "SEE"
Mom: No Brantley there you can't watch anything until I get to record you doing an elk
Brantley: flopped on the floor starting to fake cry SSEEEEEEE!!
This is what happened next...

The little stinker can do it so much better but this video made me laugh real hard. Five minutes later sitting at the table getting ready to eat lunch Brantley, of course, started making really good elk sounds again. So I got my camera out again and took this video....
He makes me laugh so hard. He is so smart and funny and I just can't get enough of him. One minute he makes me so frustrated I could tear my hair out and then the next he is giving me hugs and loves and making me laugh. I am so glad that we have the hard times so we can appreciate the good times better. Not only that but they make for really good memories. I am glad he finally let me get the elk sound on video!!

We sure love you Bray! Happy two month birthday!!!

My 24th Birthday

My birthday fell on a Saturday this year, so I was thinking I would be able to spend the whole day with my hubby and kids. Well David had to work from real early to real late so I decided to go up north to my parents house and spend the day with them and visit my in-laws. Thanks to my mother-in-law and father-in-law I had some money to go shopping and thanks to my mother I was able to go shopping for some clothes without my kids. My parent also took me out to dinner. It was a great birthday but it was even better when I got to go home and see David.

I also got a free birthday meal from Red Robin....YUMMY!!
We are waiting for our name to be called. Brantley got to throw some pennies into a fountain...
He shared some of his pennies with a new friend he made.
We also had a some great friends bring me a chocolate muffin later that night.
I sure love Macey and Curtis they have been such good neighbors and friends. Brantley LOVES them too. Anytime we walk through the front door Brantley tries
going to their door so he can see them.
While Macey and Curtis were here he was showing us how to ride his neigh(book)
Funny boy!!!

Pictures as of lately

 Brantley sure loves his daddy!!
He also loves playing in his toy cubby. He mainly loves to pull out all his toys and dump them out so he can play with the container they are in. Silly boy!
 I love these two!!
 A month old
 I love her smiles!!
When ever I try to take a picture of Braylee, Brantley wants to be a part of it!

My little guy is getting so big!!!

Brantley loves to just sit by the door. He also loves company when he is sitting there. Today he wanted his monkey to sit by him.
 Learning to smile
Braylee LOVES LOVES LOVES her baths. I love giving her baths. I do NOT like getting her out and she doesn't like to get out. She will cry and cry until she is fully dressed and snuggled.
She is getting so strong and doing so good with her neck.

Our good friend Macey bought Braylee this adorable skirt and some hair clips to match. So I had to put Braylee in it and take some pictures. I would say that she loves it too.
 Thanks Macey!!!

The container on their heads is the one I mentioned above that usually holds all of his toys. Brantley loves when Daddy is home and loves playing with him...
 inside and
outside!!

Life isn't boring to say the least. Both Brantley and Braylee keep us very busy and Brantley is always making us laugh!

Marsh Lake Adventures

I decided I would not miss my family camp out to Marsh Lake. We only stayed one night but it was so fun and nice to get out of my little apartment for a few days with my little family and it was really fun to be with almost all of my family.

Grandpa (or papee as Brantley calls him) took us fishing out on his boat

Brantley loved being out on the water

Looking at the fish we caught in the water

Brantley had so much fun that he fell right to sleep

We also went on a hike to the river

Brantleys favorite part was throwing rocks into the water

We love going to Marsh Lake! We always have such a great time spending time with family.
We can hardly wait until next year!!!

Updates

I had lost my camera so I hadn't been able to post any pictures but I am now back and ready to share.

*David and Camille*
Life has definitely not slowed down since I have had Braylee. In fact I think it has sped up a touch. After I had Braylee my mom came and stayed a week and then my mother-in-law came for about a half a week and boy was life easy when they were here. But they were so helpful they kept Brantley very busy so I could rest and relax and try to recover as fast as possible. They washed my dishes, made dinner, helped clean my house, took Brantley on walks and went to see a horse and played bubbles with him and so much more. Needless to say he was devastated when they were both gone and neither of them came back and I wasn't sure what to do by myself with two kids. I am recovering very well. My scar looks great and really I am feeling great. I am still trying to catch up on sleep and get used to a new schedule but I sure do love my two kids. It sure has been quite an adjustment going from just one to two. Brantley has been such a champ. He is always loving on Braylee, as far as I have noticed he hasn't been frustrated or upset that she has joined our family he only gets frustrated every once in a while that he doesn't have all the attention anymore. But 98% of the time he is just happy to have a friend at home and loves to help me take care of her.

I have also started my LAST semester of school!!! YAHOO!!! I am taking 5 classes which is 13 credits. My favorite class is Pilates!! I have saved some of my hardest classes until the end but I just keep telling myself three more months...just three more months! And even though a my classes are tough I am really enjoying them, but I can hardly wait until the middle of December!

David is also in school. Busy as ever. He is taking 18 credits and working as much as he can. We don't get to see him very often but when he is home we are all as happy as we can be. David just got back from a field trip to Yellowstone. He got to do some really fun things but what he keeps talking about the most is the 13 wolves he got to see and hear about from the wildlife biologist that has been following them for the past 13 years. We are hoping that after this semester he will be accepted into graduate school here at BYU where he will be in a wildlife biologist masters program. He is such a great dad to both Brantley and Braylee. We made a deal when Braylee was born that when he was home he would change all of Brantleys diapers and I all of Braylees. He has done great and has even surprised me a few times and changes Braylees for me. He is such a good daddy! I love watching him with both the kids!

*Brantley*
Brantley is almost two years old. I can hardly believe it. He cracks us up on a daily basis. He is so smart and he surprises me all the time with how much he knows and catches on to.  Here are a few things that are happening with Brantley
He is obsessed with animals especially elk and horses. He recently discovered his sock monkey and loves to carry it around and sleep with it.
He also has moved to a big bed and only sleeps in his crib on rare occasions. I love having him in a twin bed because I can lay by him at night to read him stories and when he wakes up in the morning or in the middle of the night he just comes into our room.
He loves to sing and dance. His two favorite songs are twinkle twinkle and happy birthday and he will dance to any kind of music.
Talks all the time. My favorite thing he says as of lately is when we ask him a question he will start off his answer with "ummmm"
He is obsessed with getting flies that come into our house. I was sitting next to him on the couch watching a show when all the sudden Brantley smacked his forehead and said "fly". Also when ever he sees one flying around he will yell "fly" and point to where ever it is and chase after it.
I know I have said this before but he is super helpful with Braylee, maybe a little too helpful. In the past two weeks I have caught him trying to feed Braylee a jalapeno, a cookie, and milk (the kind she can't have).

Here are a few pictures as of late of Brantley
I have had a hard time getting him to eat cut corn but we just found out he loves corn if he can eat it right off the cob!

Brantley loves his daddy
and brushing his teeth
and constantly hugging and kissing Braylee. She really doesn't seem to mind half the time.
He is such a good big brother.

We went to the Weber State fair and He loved pushing Braylee in her stroller. I am still getting used to the whole two kid idea so this is the only picture I got the whole time we were there. But he sure loved all the animals especially the horses, pigs, and cows.

Falling asleep in his high chair doesn't happen very often. But I love when it does! I think he is so dang cute!

*Braylee*

I sure do love this little angle! She is such a good baby! Here is a little bit about her.
The 6 hours of sleeping didn't last more than two weeks. She went to every 3 hours for a little while but now we are back to 7+ hours at night (most the time).
She doesn't like sleeping in the bassinet, she LOVES the swing though
She is starting to smile ALOT and I can't get enough of them.
\She loves Brantley, when she watches him she smiles it is the cutest thing.
At her two week appointment she had gained 2 pounds. She is chunking right out.
She loves being held and her back being patted.

Here are a few pictures I have got of her

Happy as can be holding Braylee
My little angle baby girl!

Life might me a little tougher right now with school and two kids but I wouldn't want our life any other way.
I love my little family!
