Looks Who's Two...its my Brantley Boo

That two years went by really fast. I cant believe how big my little man has gotten. I had great plans for Brantleys birthday day but the weather ruined them and Brantley had plans of his own anyway.
I had gotten up early and was doing so good at getting all my house work done before the kids woke up. When Brantley woke up he had breakfast of pancakes and then he helped me with some laundry. While we were in his room putting clothes in drawers, I decided that it was time to take out the clothes that were to small and start putting in the next size. Brantley was playing his toy slide that had been pushed up against the wall. While I had my back turned he must have lost balance and fell back because I heard a sickening thunk and turned around to Brantley siting on the floor trying to decide whether or not to start crying. Well he did and they were not quiet little sobs it was heart wrenching crys of pain. So I picked him up to try to calm him down. He put his hand on the back of his head and brought it forward to look at it and it was covered in blood. I was shocked. I immediately ran him to the bathroom counter and sat him down to try to look at it. He just kept touching his head and saying "bonk head. Bonk head." I didn't know what to do. I completely froze and forgot all first aide I had ever learned, except that head wounds bleed a lot, and they do. What did I do (that I am slightly ashamed of) I didn't put pressure on it, thats for sure. Instead I left him on the counter crying as I ran around from room to room searching for my phone. I kept saying to myself. "I don't know what to do. What should I do?" I would run back to Brantley to check on him and then continue running around looking for my phone.  Well I finally found it, ran back to Brantley who was still crying and telling me that he bonked his head. I did look at his head to see if I could find where he was bleeding from and found a gapping hole. I tried calling David who was in a class that didn't have service but due to the size of the hole in his head I decided that he would probably require stitches. So I called my wonderful neighbor Cindi and asked her to come get Braylee so I could take Brantley to the instacare. I got Brantley in the car and we were off. He had a hard time putting his head against the seat he would just keep saying "bonk head"
.
And although I forgot first aide I did get pictures....

I was wishing he had short hair but this is his head after the nurse got him all cleaned up.
His head required 5 staples. He was such a trooper. When the doctor came into see him and asked him how he was Brantley responded without any help "I bonk head". The procedure was quick and Brantley only whimpered a little. And when we were done he got a bouncy ball for being such a good boy. This was definitely not one of my proud mothering moments but hopefully next time something like this happens, I will remember what to do.
The next day. You can see the staples better.

After we got home and got all cleaned up and ready for the day (again) we went and picked up David and took Brantley out to lunch at Chick-fil-a. We got a free birthday meal for Brantley in the mail from America First Credit Union. He loved it and so did David.

The cute birthday boy and his beautiful baby sister.

We also threw Brantley a birthday party with family at the Zoo. The zoo also was having their annual "Boo at the Zoo" that day so we had all the cousins dress up for some trick-or-treating while also see the animals.

Our cute little cowboy was spoiled rotten. We are so grateful for all those that came and helped us celebrate and especially my mom for helping me get everything ready. It was such a beautiful wonderful day.
