Drum Roll Please.......

ITS A BOY!!!
Brantley Chlarson Smedley isn't very shy about showing off his business.
We are so excited, especially David! We were so sure it was a girl. We prayed last night that the baby wouldn't be shy and he wasn't. As soon as this picture showed up on the ultra sound David got such a huge smile He hasn't been able to stop smiling. I am very excited too. Having a boy will be so much fun! The doctor said the baby is healthy which makes us even happier! We got to see feet and arms and we got to see the baby's mouth move! Seeing everything was so fun. I probably had tears streaming down my face the whole time.

I can't help thinking about the miracle about having a baby. I am amazed everyday. The fact that I have a living baby growning inside me is absolutely an amazing miracle. I am so grateful for this opportunity. David and I can't wait to meet him!

Boy, will I be excited when summer is over....

Not that I don't love the summer with no school, no homework, no school stress, the vacations, family outing, the sunshine, the fresh fruits and vegetables being able to wear my flip flops and everything else that is wonderful that goes with summer. but I GET TO HAVE DAVID HOME ALL THE TIME. He has left me once again. He went with one of BYU graduate students to help with his project back down at the Lytle Ranch which is about 5 hours away. He will hopefully make it back in time for the baby appointment that is at 8:40 in the morning. He left Monday around 1 and will hopefully be home Friday around 7:00 but for this to be possible he has to leave Lytle around 2am. I know David is a night owl, but that is even early for him to be up and moving. That is when he is usually going to bed.
At the beginning of the summer I was getting used to having him leave, but the past couple of weeks I was spoiled to have him home most of the time, and when he did leave it was only usually for a night. So this week has felt like starting all over again. I sure do miss him.
BUT on a lighter note this past week David has surprised me with a few notes he had hidden around the house for me to find to let me know that he loves me. I probably cried the first few I found. Oh how I love him! I can't wait until he comes home!

Before Fish Lake...our side trip to Cove Fort

So on the way down to Fish Lake Cameron was having some car troubles. So my parents were with him to make sure he made it there okay. (David and I were still a couple of hours behind them along with the rest of the family) so on the way down after they had fixed what they thought was wrong with his car my parents just headed to the camp site to drop off the trailer and then go back and tow the boat to see if that would help. Well David and I figured that the family still wasn't there and so we decided to take a detour. We drove to Cove Fort. We love church historical sites. This one is no exception. We got our own personal tour with a wonderful convert missionary from I think it was Ohio. He was so super nice and you could tell he had a very strong personal testimony. I love historical sites there is just a special feel to them. We had fun learning/relearning about the history of this place. How it was built, why it was built, who lived there, what kind of things went on there and so on. We even went and toured the big barn, bunk house, and the black smiths shop. We even got to try a game that the children used to play. David was really good, me not so much. We had a lot of fun on our little side trip, even if it was an expensive side trip! David on the way down wasn't paying attention to his speed and was going a little to fast, needless to say the Highway patrolman wasn't very nice and well our little side trip turned into a very expensive one, but it was totally worth it. Oh and just in case you were wondering Cameron made it to Fish Lake just fine, it just took a really long time!

Fish Lake!!! (pictures coming later)

Okay so we finally got to go on a camping trip with my WHOLE family (almost, we missed Celika and Hayden). We had so much fun! We went to Fish Lake. Nathan and his cute family came. We don't get to see them much so it was a ball having them around. There were many times their kids made me laugh out loud with funny things they said.
We spent the days down there not doing a whole lot, mostly trying to stay cool. I was so surprised how hot it was. David fished...and he did really well. He heard that Fish Lake has Perch and so he looked up recipes and found one that was pretty tasty. He caught over 25 in less than 2 hours, but he wasn't the only one who did well. Fish Lake isn't called Fish Lake for no reason.
Not only was this place new for our family to visit, my parents had a brand new trailer. It was awesome! There was so much space in there.
Since this was the families first time at a new place, we weren't really sure of the things to do there besides go fishing at the lake. So my mother created a shape treasure hunt for all the kids. At each station she had a clue and the kids had to guess the shape and then do an activity that related to it. For example they played Red Light, Green Light with the octagon. With the circle they played a ring toss. Such a cute idea and it kept the kids entertained.
Debbie had family home evening this month and she, had it up there with everyone. She did a scavenger hunt. At each station she had hidden a story of some kind and a letter and at the end you put all your letters that you gathered together to guess what the topic was.
We really liked Fish Lake, and hopefully the family will continue going there. We had a nice relaxing weekend. Thanks Mom and Dad for supplying the trailer and boat and everything else!

I am grateful to be married

So at work I was reminded of how grateful I am to be married and out of the dating world. Here are some of my top reasons
no more awkward situations of being asked out by someone who I don't want to go anywhere with.
no more awkward first dates
no more awkward second dates
I always have a date for everything, no more searching for a date to go places with me, David just gets to go (even if he would rather pull out his arm hairs one by one)
I have someone to snuggle with ALL THE TIME
no more having to feel like I have to impress someone...I can just be myself all the time!
I am grateful to be out of the dating world
no more guessing how a guy feels about me...David tells me he loves about 20 times a day and I love it. I can't ever hear it enough.
I can kiss David when EVER I want
These are just a few of the things, my list can go on and on but I will just end by saying I am so grateful to be married. Better yet, to be married to David I love him. I know he will make a wonderful father.

TWO MORE WEEKS TO GO!!!

So I had one of my 4 week appointments today. I am 17 weeks and 5 days. I was hoping that I could talk my doctor into doing a gender check but to no avail. We did although get to hear the babies heart beat and I am measuring larger. The doctor said I am measuring 19 weeks which would be awesome if that was really the case and our baby wanted to come before the 19th. Anyway, we will find out what we are having July 30th at 8:40 (as long as the baby cooperates:D). We are so excited. We were both hoping that we could find out today, but I guess we just need to practice some patients;) I will say, David and I BOTH think that it is a girl, but we will see. Just two more weeks to go!!
HOORAY!!

*4 MONTHS*

There is a light at the end of the tunnel!!
Well I am not hating pregnancy anymore. I am actually kind of liking it.
This is what I have been feeling lately.
I am starting to like food again, I can eat more normally.
I am back to making dinner.
I still have a very sensitive gag reflex when it comes to smells and body functions.
I still don't have any cravings, besides a simple craving that only last for like a few minutes.
My belly is getting a little bigger, some say I am starting to look a little more prego! Which makes me happy.
I still haven't felt movement...or at least I don't think I have.
I am still very tired all the time.
I still eat a lot.
I am very emotional. I cry all the time
(okay that really isn't that big of change but now I have something to blame it on!)
I am not very comfortable at night, but I think I am getting used to it, because I am starting to sleep better.
I am very excited to be pregnant and I am becoming more and more excited every day to find out what we are having and even more excited to meet our baby in December.

Tuesday (and our last day) at Bear Lake

Our last day we just took it easy. I slept in while David went golfing for the 2 or 3 time. For lunch we went with Ben and Holly and there kids, and Polly and Jordan and Kaylee to La Beaus (I think I spelt that wrong). David and I got a hamburger and fries. It was so good! After everyone had finished we went on a bike ride and not any bike ride...an 8/9 seater bike. I always told David how fun these bikes looked and Jordan suggested that we rent one. The looked like a leisurely ride since you have 4 people peddling, but no. I only peddled for a little bit and it was tough work, but it was so fun, and funny, and a real great time! I am glad that I finally got to ride one of these things, but I don't think I will ever do it again.
After we got back from our bike trip David and I took a nap and when we woke up we packed and had a dinner prepared by Ben and Holly, and then we took off back to home. We had such a wonderful trip. We love Bear Lake!

THIS IS ACTUALLY MONDAY AFTER JENNY AND JARED LEFT
(I just didn't want to re-write everything)
After we got back, we all went outside and played...well I watched and took pictures, and after we were all done playing. We went and got ice cream. We love getting ice cream. They are pretty cheap and the ice cream is good. David was sad because they ran out of his favorite kind
(play dough)

After we had our fill of ice cream and playing outside we went inside and after the kids were put to bed we watched a movie called 10,000 BC it was a really good movie and a good end to a good day!

Monday at Bear Lake

Monday morning David and I fixed a delicious breakfast (if I do say so my self) of waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, and orange juice. After breakfast we headed down to the beach where we got a boat and wave runners. The day was still colder and windy but not as much as the other days we were up there. We couldn't have picked a better day to play at the beach. I did ride the tube, but I didn't get any pictures of that, but I tried to get pictures of everyone else that went. We had such a fun day.
David and I brought down the tent, it was kind of tricky to put on, and it was super windy so we didn't put it up all the way, and I don't think anyone actually sat under it. Everyone wanted the warmth of the sunshine. The pictures are some fun in the sand. I didn't get much. I was on the boat most of the time, and when I got back I was a little to cold and hungry to think about taking pictures. So this is all I got of the beach.

What would a Bear Lake boating trip be with out David on his air chair. He thinks he didn't do as well this year, but I thought he did pretty well. I have included one of the videos that I took of him.

Here is Ben he did some air-chair and some wake-board.
fun on the boat

Jenny and Milli on the tube. There run wasn't as fun as they thought it would be...but it was sure fun watching.
After there little run on the tube, Jenny decided that she was wet enough that she might as well water ski.

Holly and Brunson thought they would try the tube. Brunson didn't like the water in his face so we pulled in the tube and Holly rode the tube into the beach.

Milly came and sat by Brunson while Holly was on the tube.

Polly had the best tube run of the day. She was so funny to watch. She sure had a bumpy ride and I think Dave was trying to get her thrown off, but whether or not that was his goal. Polly was thrown off, and it was a good one, she took the tube cover with her when she went over-board.
After everyone was done at the beach most went to the pool where the water was warmer and where it was less windy. When everyone got back there was some resting and some napping and then a wonderful dinner prepared by Polly and Jordan.

Milly showing her collection of sea shells that she collected at the beach.

Needless to say we had a fun day, and we were lucky enough to have chose the best day to go take a boat out on the water. All of the other days up there the water had white caps on them all day. After dinner Jenny and Jared headed home with there family. I am glad that we could be up there with all the family at one time. We missed them when they went home.

Sunday at Bear Lake

Sunday we went to a church in a small town not far from where we were staying. The church was packed. There were so many people there relief society and sunday school had to be held in the sacrament room.
The relief society lesson was wonderful. The lesson was on how we learn from Jesus Christ how to deal with trials. The teacher did a excellent job.
The rest of the sunday was spent taking walks, sleeping, watching church movies. This year seemed to be colder this year. The wind was always blowing, and it was a cold wind. I forgot my jacket of course but didn't want to spend the money to buy a new one just for a few days so I just carried a blanket around with me.
That night we had a wonderful dinner prepared by Ben and Holly. It was delicious!

SATURDAY at Bear Lake---start at the bottom and work up!

Later that night in celebration for the 4th Bear Lake put on some fire works....this picture is about as good as the fireworks got but I am glad that we got to watch some, and it was a wonderful end to a wonderful day!

We had a fun Saturday, and after eating and swimming the rest of the day was spent relaxing and playing the wii everyone had a lot of fun playing it, especially all the kids.
Later that night for dinner, we combinded with Uncle Terry and Aunt Sue's family and had a dutch oven dinner. We filled our plates with potatos, and ribs, and delicious salads. Sorry I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures of the dinner but we all had a lot of fun sitting around talking to everyone, but we all decided that it was too cold and too windy to stay out longer for dessert so we all packed up and headed in for dutch oven cobler. After dinner Jordan my brother-in-law decided that he would go for a bike ride. Well his chain broke and he took a nasty fall. (The pictures above are not for the faint hearted)

After we ran out of quarters we all gathered next to the big bear where we get one of these pictures every year with all the little children.

Even David had to get on and ride! I love this man, he is always making me laugh, and I think the horse riding fits him! Sorry about the sideways videos...I couldn't get them to turn.

After everyone had gotten there fill of the pizza we headed out to the little moving rides. David went and got quarters and made sure everyone got a ride. We had such a fun time watching the kiddos. Kaylee didn't like it very much when it moved.

So this past weekend over the 4th David and I went and joined most of the Smedley fam at Bear Lake. We missed having Scott, Julie, Varci, and the Hoenes family. Davids parents have a time share up there and the Bear Lake trip is one of my most favorite trips of the year. (Thanks Scott and Julie). David and I got up to Bear Lake on late Friday night and Saturday was spent relaxing by the pool and after everyone had gotten enough there we headed to Bear Lake Pizza. There pizza is HUGE and very expensive, but it feeds everyone with some left over.
