Brantley's nasty fall and playing outside

We love going to the BYU duck pond and every time we go Brantley always gives a scare by almost falling in. We have just been waiting for it to happen and it finally did. Brantley moves so fast and he was trying to throw a stick in but got distracted by the people next to him and lost his balance and went head over heals. It was not a soft landing. In fact the only thing that actually make it into the pond was a foot. He used his head to brace his fall on the stump, rock and dirt. The poor little man. One of the worst feelings I have ever had watching Brantley fall over and disappear from sight. But after I got him out we came home to take a bath and he was all smiles.

It looked like someone had put two little holes in his head. So sad!

But he is doing good and has gone back to the pond without any fears.

Playing outside
We don't have the best area to play outside but I took Brantley out to the parking lot the other day to let him stretch his legs before bedtime. He just cracks me up. In the video he would run his bike off the little curb and run a little with it then have to turn around and carry it back. He did this multiple times. I just barely caught the last run on video.

Fathers Day

I have been blessed with some wonderful men in my life. I couldn't have asked for a better Father who set the kind of example that I wanted to find in a husband. David is the best husband, father and friend I could have ever asked for. I am so blessed to have him in my life and I don't know what I would do without him.

We drove up north for Fathers Day and Brantley just loves his Papee!! So when we got there my Dad took him outside to swing and look at the neighbors dogs.

Update on Brantley

20 months old and all full of energy

Brantley is getting so big! Sometimes I just stare at him and wonder where the time has gone. He is becoming so independent at times it can be very frustrating because he has to do things by himself but I just have to remember that this is a part of life and he has to learn somehow. He is always making us laugh. Here are a few things that are going on with him.
*He goes to sleep at 7:30 and sleeps until 7:30
*Still takes two naps a day
*Climbs on everything
*When he is eating, he gives everything a try. He also eats a lot more when I give him a fork or spoon so he can do it all himself.
*Loves animals
*Talks ALL the time. He is putting sentences together like "where is it?"
*Loves to sing (his favorite song is twinkle twinkle little start)
*Would live outside if I let him
*He is very social. He says Hi to anyone and everyone
Brantley is so fun....but he is definitely not all sugar and spice. But I will take him sour so I can really enjoy the sweet!

Day Care Party
The day care Brantley goes to had a little family night. David got to meet all of Brantley's teachers and former teachers. I love this place and I am so grateful that they allow me the opportunity to go to class. I will sure miss being able to take Brantley to go play with friends come December when I graduate.

34 Weeks

Every week that I can last a little longer is a big deal to me. My pregnancy is still going really great. I had a doctors appointment on Wednesday and he said that everything seems to be going perfect. Baby girl sounds great and I am measuring at exactly 34 weeks. I hadn't thought I was having any contractions but as I was laying down and the doctor was trying to feel what position the baby was in I was having a contraction. The only contractions I had known were the real labor pain contractions not these ones that are apparently normal. I thought it was just baby girl moving around and stretching. But now that I know that they are contractions I realize I have A LOT of contractions. But so far no real labor pains. Thank heavens! We will keep praying that she decides to stay inside for a few more weeks. But the closer we are getting to meet this little one the more excited I am getting.

33 Weeks

Yahoo!! I have made one week past when I had Brantley. I am really hoping this little one stays inside until 37 weeks and lets me do a vaginal birth. But if she does decide to come early I am a little more prepared this time.

Baby Name

So the past week David and I have decided on a baby girl name. Now this isn't official and our minds usually change daily but since this name seems to be sticking a little longer than usual so I have decided to post it. The name that we both are loving right now is....

Braeley Sage Smedley

or

Braeley Ann Smedley

I know that it is a name really close to Brantley but David and I have tried other names that don't start with "Br" but non of them seem to fit at all and so we just keep coming back and this one is a favorite of both of us. We are still deciding on a middle name but either way we like the first name and for now it is staying.

Baby Shower and Brantley's new bed

*Baby Shower*
Tonight my wonderful friend Macey threw me a baby shower. She put in so much work and it was so fun. She had everything decorated so cute I can't even thank her enough.
I got a lot of wonderful things and I had a lot of wonderful friends there. From left to right Me, Macey, Joy Fair, Meagan Mitchell, Coventry Brown, Christyn Lindquist, and Cindi Lindsey. Not pictured is Christine Yeung and Brooke Palmer. Thank you to everyone especially Macey!!

*Brantleys New Bed*
So to create more space in our little two bedroom apartment we got bunk beds. Brantley loves laying on his bed. He won't actually move to his new bed until about January so until then he will stay in his crib and he can just play and get used to having a big boys bed in his room.
For his bed time routine Brantley wanted to lay on his new bed to read a story. He would have liked to sleep there but he is a wild sleeper and wouldn't have lasted a quarter of the night on the bed. So David laid by him until he fell asleep and then put him in his crib. I can hardly believe how big he is getting. Wow time has moved fast!

***32 Weeks....8 Months***

I made it!! I am 32 weeks today!
No contractions or preterm labor signs. Everything looks great and she sounds great. We went to the doctor today and I am measuring at 32 weeks all we had was good news except for one thing that I didn't want to hear at all. Ever since I got pregnant with Brantley my dream was to go all natural well Brantley ruined his run by being breech, but I was hoping that with this one I would be able to fulfill my dream and so far things were looking good. Baby girl is head down, with a small possibility that she could still turn but it is very slim and my doctor doesn't think that she will BUT because I had a c-section with Brantley he HIGHLY suggests that I get an epidural. I was so sad to hear this. I know it isn't required but after the doctor explained all the complications that could happen I am not going to chance anything and I will be getting an epidural. I will just be happy to have her here! But hopefully I will still be able to have a normal delivery. I am so excited! I can hardly wait to meet this little one.  As for how I have been feeling. I have been feeling great. Still no sickness, no food aversions, I am sleeping better, and just loving being pregnant

Brantley

Brantley has a new favorite thing to do....drive!!!
 whenever he can
David came up the drive way when we were outside and so Brantley let him drive into a parking stall.
I don't like this picture of me but I love Brantley in it. I was sitting on the couch and he came and cuddled with me and I just loved how he put his hands that I couldn't resist blogging about it.

The ZOO

We were able to go to the zoo to see the new exhibits they opened. I think they did a great job. As always Brantley loved the zoo. He also loved being able to go with a lot of his cousins.

They are standing in front of the polar bear exhibit. We got there about 30 seconds late to see the bear swimming. But it was still fun getting to see the bear.

He is coughing in this picture...not licking the window!

The family walking. Emerson LOVED pushing Brantley and he did a great job doing it.

 Brantley and Corbin sharing crackers
We love the zoo! I am so glad we get to go so often!

Fun Things

David went fishing with my dad and caught a real nice wiper
Brantley just wanted to touch it.
Brantley throws little fits and throws himself on the ground. I was able to distract him by taking his picture.
Brantley loves animals and he is very good at all of his animal sounds but one of our favorites is a bear. He roars and put out his hand. This is a little video of him being a bear.
