Wonderful Weekend

Last Thursday David went on a required field trip down to Lytle ranch for 4 days. I took the opportunity to go stay at my parent for the weekend. So I packed up the car and Brantley and I were off. I love visiting my parents especially for long periods of time. They spoiled me rotten. I got a new pair of pj's made, my mom changed countless diapers and fed Brantley numerous times. They took me to dinner at El Matadors which was delicious and I got to see lots of family of both David and my siblings. Thanks Mom and Dad for everything!!!

Some other eventful things that happened this past weekend...

*My car died, we had to buy a new battery and a new battery cable

David and I are all signed up for fall classes--David and I will both be taking 5 classes, it is going to be a busy semester.

David's sister Polly and hubby Jordan welcomed baby #2 into their family and I can't wait to meet little Carson!!

*Brantley now sleeps in his crib...and not to well I might add. But he is still cute as can be and we love him to pieces!!!

*Brantley got his first REAL hair cut!!!

Brantley's First REAL hair cut

David and I have finally done it....I cut Brantley's hair. I didn't mean to cut it as short as I did I thought it would be a little longer but he still looks cute and I know it will grow back.... Before:His hair was almost 3 inches long
After: I have a video of the hair cut that I will put up here soon!!!

Brantley giggling

Sorry I forgot to move the hanging toys first but it is his giggle that you are really listening for anyway!

What has been happening with David and Camille...

David:

He is a very very busy man, he only has about 3 weeks left of school and he is so excited. This semester has been very busy for him. He has had to do a ton of memorizing and bird finding. One of his assignments is to identify by sound or sight 200 birds. He is currently at 110. He is also very busy with work. The poor guy has to get up a couple days a week super early. This morning he had to be up at 3:30 to be to work by 4. Other nights he leaves at 8 or 9 at night and gets back sometimes at 2 in the morning. But even though Brantley and I don't get to see him a lot we make the time we do get to see each other count. He helps me out so much and is quite the handy man. For example, our swing when we bought it only ran on batteries which was starting to get a little pricey. But he was talking to his sister Kali the other day whose husband is a genius fixed their swing to plug in so you didn't have to use batteries any more. Well Taylor told David how to do it, and he did it. Our swing is now 100% battery free and....

and both mommy and Brantley love it!!!

Camille:

I am loving staying home with Brantley and I am also loving the super nice break that I have had from school, but school must go on and so this summer I have enrolled in 3 classes. Two are first block and the other one is online. The 7 weeks that I have with those two classes is going to be quite the kick in the pants but I only have a year left and I am ready to be done. I am also embarking on a weight loss journey. My goal is to loose 8-10 pounds by the end of this month. I am determined to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes comfortably. I can get into them and I can wear them I just don't feel comfortable. So wish me luck!

Brantley....5 Months Old......

Here's what has been happening with Brantley:

*Now weighs 14 pounds 9 ounces *Is 24.6 inches long

*Eats 5-6 ounces every 3 hours

*Smiles all the time at everyone

*Will laugh for mommy (if he is in the mood)

*Rolls over from front to back AND almost from back to front

*loves to stand

*loves being held

*just moved into 3-6 month clothes

*Wears size 3 diapers

*Loves to be swaddled when he goes to sleep

*Talks all the time

*LOVES being outside

*Sleeps like a champ---takes 4-1 hour naps during the day and sleeps 9-10 hours at night. We have a schedule and our day usually goes like this...he wakes up at between 7:30 and 8:00 eats 5-6 ounces which usually takes a half hour then plays for about a half hour then mommy swaddles him up and he goes to sleep usually without any fuss. Sleeps for about an hour wakes up plays for a little bit and then it all starts over until about 8:30 or 9:00. We then change his diaper and put him in his jammers, feed him and once he is done we take him to his bed say a prayer, read scriptures, sing a song, and then mommy or daddy read him a book. He then is put in bed and goes right to sleep and sleeps the whole night through.

*Has had 3 colds this winter season. We are finally coming to the end of his 3rd one but we are still sucking snot...he HATES every minute of it. David and I have recently invested in an automatic snot sucker $20 at Walgreens and we love it, but Brantley sure doesn't.

*The doctor says that in his weight he is only about a month behind (instead of two) and that he thinks that he will be all caught up both mentally and physically by 9 months.

*He still sleeps in our room, but the doctor says to get him in his own bed as soon as his apnea monitor comes off next month but we will see what happens. I just love having him so close to me.

*Started rice cereal...he isn't a big fan but I am sure it will grow on him:D

*Is no longer on Prevacid but still has to have iron every morning and night and a multivitamin in the morning.

*He is just a mellow happy child almost all of the time!!

David and I can't believe how big our little man is getting. We love him so much and can't imagine life without him. We are so grateful he is ours forever.
Now you see it....and now its almost gone...Brantley is just getting so big and is constantly turning his head that he has almost gotten rid of all the hair on the back of his head...but David and I just can bear to cut any of his hair so it will just probably stay like this for a little while longer.
FIRST TIME WITH RICE CEREAL:
He loves sitting in the high chair and bumbo so he can look all

around and watch what everyone is doing. He has discovered his fingers and loves chewing on them...he still loves his binkie but when it is no where to be found no fear he has his fingers to play with.
He isn't the biggest fan of rice cereal we would put it in and....

He would spit it out.

Pictures of Brantley

Getting ready for the deer hunt!!!

Soooo tired....

Loving just being with Daddy

Brantley loves looking at himself in the mirror, he usually smiles but I took the picture at the wrong time.
