Two years and counting.....

Well this Sunday will be David and My two year anniversary. We will be celebrating it by going back to the place where everything began. We are going to the Salt Lake Temple to do sealings. I am so excited. I am amazed at how fast the time has gone by. We have had our ups and downs, and I am not going to lie our first year was hard....so hard in fact that at times I was ready to throw in the towel. Life was hard, but I did learn some very valuable lessons in life and had some experiences that have helped me become a better person. Life is wonderful now, I love being married. I love David. I didn't love the hard times we had, but I am grateful for them. We have become so much closer as a couple, and I know that no matter what comes our way we will be able to handle it TOGETHER. If someone were to ask me for some marriage advice I would tell them
1. Communication is crucial...
2. Couple prayer and scripture study is so important...do it every day!
3. Personal prayer and scripture study
4. Spend time with each other so you can remember why you got married in the first place.
5. The little things in life, like a hug or a kiss or a little note go along way and they mean a lot
6. Put your spouse first....in everything...and life will be better than you can imagine.

I got more but I will leave it at that....I am grateful for all of my very many blessings, especially David and these past two years that I have been able to spend with him.

crazy people.....make for good stories...

Well for Christmas I received some money. I decided that I wanted to go by my self a new Sunday outfit. Well of course I went to my favorite store Kims Fashion in Clearfield, where i was depressed to find that the skirt I wanted was all out in my size, so I went to Kholes where I also came up empty handed, so I decided to try my luck and went through every single store in the Layton mall. Where I found nothing of interest to me. I almost gave up but decided to try the Ogden mall. Where I found the perfect skirt. As David and I were standing in the check out like line (with the standard space between strangers) this lady with her husband walks up. Her husband walks behind us to the end of the line, while his wife decides that she wanted to stand in front of us.(she was also talking to herself) David and I both looked at each other but didn't say anything, but her husband behind us said to her "uh hon the end of the line is back here" she tureds around to David and I and puts her finger up to her mouth and goes "shhhhhhhh" and then turns back around. Her husband then grabs her arm and brings her back to the end of the line and while he is dragging her back she says "like I couldn't see you standing there.....I just wanted to stand in front of you" we just kinda smiled and ignored her and waited for the girl in front of us to finish. Just as the girl finished, David got a call on his phone and he walked away. So I went up and put my skirt down on the counter and the crazy lady, with all her stuff came and stood right next to me and put her stuff down also....I am thinking "man what happened to my personal space...she is really close to me" and if you think I am probably just exaggerating...she was so close that the clerk asked if were were together.....and honestly it kinda threw me off guard and I stood there and looked at her like an idiot for a little while until it clicked what she was talking about and just as I answered "no" the crazy lady answered "yes...we are lesbionic" then she precedes to explain what lesbionic is. and apparently it is her new made up word that it is the mix between lesbian and something else (I was in shock so I didn't really hear what it was a mix with, but I quickly came out to answer that we weren't together and we weren't lesbionic) but then she went on to explain that she really isn't that way because lesbionic people come from San Fransisco and she has never been there. I couldn't believe it! She was crazy, and her husband just stood there and listened. Needless to say I got out of there quick, but not without having a good laugh with David as we were leaving!

Update on us.....

Well I know it has been a few weeks since my last post so let me inform you of a little bit that has happened most recently.....

1. Christmas and New Years went GREAT!! We spent most of the time with Davids family, but we were definatly spoiled from both sides of our families for Christmas and it was so fun to be able to get to spend so much time with everyone. I espically loved visiting, playing games with all of Davids extended family. (but I think next new years eve I am going to handcuff David to me so he can kiss me as soon as the ball drops!!....he got a little side tracked trying to get pots and pans to bang together!!:D

Christmas Morning
We slept over at Davids partents house with his sister
Varci, Polly and her husband Jordan, their little girl Kaylee, and Jerry

Christmas evening....

Thanks to everyone for everything...we were very blessed this Chrismas...one of the presents even brought me to tears (Thanks Jenny and fam!)
2. David's Aunt Lori and Uncle Scott took us out to dinner and a movie (I loved spending time with them, they are such a fun couple, and Sherlock Holmes was GREAT!!!)

3. School started back up (ehhhh!!) I tell you what...it is good that I don't have children...because I don't think you could ever make me go back if I didn't have to! But I guess I will appreciate the opportunity to go back now!:D but since classes have started both David and I have had major problems with scheduling. The class is to full, or it isn't offered at the right time, or the teacher is horrible....it has just been a nightmare for both of us to try and figure out our schedules....but I think we have finally got our schedules just right, and it is going to be a wonderful semmester for both of us (I am sure!)

4. I got a new calling...I am the 4th sunday relief society teacher. Yes that is the ensign, I am excited, but very nervous! I have wait some people might call high water tables...which means you say the word "cry" and I will cry! It is that bad, so I guess I am not so nervous for teaching as I am for crying while I am teaching....but wish me luck....

5. and probably the most exciting.....Sunday David and I will celebrate our two year anniversary! More postings on that latter!

But as for right now....life is good! It has its challenges, but what would we be able to laugh about tomorrow if we didn't make mistakes today?

A thanks to my wonderful husband...

The past couple of days I have just been reminded of how wonderful my husband is. I love him so much and I just want to tell everyone. I honestly couldn't have married a better person. He is always there for me, for both the good and bad. He is my best friend. He supports me in anything I want to do. I can tell him anything and everything, and he loves me just the way I am. He tells me every day how much he loves me, and days when my emotions are running high and a good comercial comes on, or I had a bad day at work and start to cry David doesn't make me feel stupid or dumb he just gives me a gentle hug to let me know he cares and that he loves me. I am grateful for all that he has done for me and all that he does for me! I love him!

Week of finals..........

Well last week I had 3 finals my exercise class, self defense and computer class, and the last 3 are this week and hopefully they will go okay.
I recoreded my self defense final (the most fun final I have ever taken)
and I would recommend this kind of class to anyone both young and old!
I am so glad I took this class! I have love it!

CHRISTMAS.........YAY!!

Well it is that time of year, the time of year that I absolutely love! Setting up the Christmas tree (that was so graciously was lended to us by my wonderful Mamah Taylor),
the snow, the time spent with family and friends! I am so grateful for all I have been given! I have been very blessed.

I am a HUGE themed room kinda person, and my living room is a outdoors theme and so (idea from my very creative sister-in-law Debbie) I have a fishing tree. Blue lights for water, fishing bubbles, net for the skirt. I love it! Thanks for the idea Deb!

Thanksgiving...

Oh my I had one of the best Thanksgivings this year. David, Varci (Davids sister), and I drove down to Arizona for Thanksgiving. We drove all through the night and didn't get there til about 7:30am (just in time for Kali's pull-a-parts...yummy). David then went with Taylor (Kali's husband) to a turkey bowl. I stayed around and watched the Macys day parade with Kali and Kenzi. Kenzi was quite the little crack up.

Kali prepared Thanksgiving dinner...she did a marvelous job. The turkey was the most moist turkey that I have ever tasted. She labored over the turkey for hours. Dinner was fantastic, everything tasted delicious. Dan and Autumn Iverson also ate with us and Dan made some rolls that were mouth watering. The next day, Kali took me shopping to early in the morning:) We went to JoAnns and a few other stores it was fun just getting to go shopping with her.

Later that day I saw one of the most exciting things ever....a drug bust on the freeway....no one in front of us....just the police with the AK47's and their mega phones. It was so COOL

We also went to the Desert Museum...which I would recommend to anyone to see. It is a museum that is kinda like the zoo but instead but only for desert animals and insects.

The next day we went to MEXICO!!! HOORAY!!! I loved it. My first real time out of the country and I had such a wonderful experience. I bought a bracelet, some vanilla, and a hair piece. It was so fun seeing the shops and the wonderful people. The next time I go back, it will be even better..because next time I will be speaking Spanish. We then went to visit some of Davids cousins and then stayed the night with my brother Nathan and his cute family. His wife Kristi was so good to us. She prepared a beautiful, delicious dinner, and then had a bed set up for all of us, so that we could sleep comfortably while we were there.

It was such a fun trip....and a wonderful Thanksgiving I can't wait for the day when we will get to go back.
