A wave of light...

October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Everyone is invited to light a candle on October 15th at 7:00 pm in all time zones all over the world. If everyone lights a candle at 7 pm and keeps it burning for at least one hour, there will be a continuous WAVE OF LIGHT all over the world. Please burn a candle on October 15th in loving memory of our little angel, Easton.

A conference weekend to remember....

Conference weekend was very enjoyable. I had saturday off to enjoy ALL the conference sessions and for a girls night out with MOST my side of the family.
(Kristi, and Celika you were missed!)

We planned on dinner and a movie. We went to dinner at Lucky China where the food was delicious and the company was fantastic.

(My Camera had issues the flash only works when it wants)

After that we were headed to watch Scarlett Pimpernel (as soon as I found a place that carried it.) I checked all over and finally decided to try wal-mart, because wal-mart has pretty much everything and I really needed use the restroom. And when I need to go I need to go. I really can't concentrate on much else on even a bathroom sign.Well when I was walking into walmart I was trying so hard not to have an accident that I couldn't concentrate on anything else. I also just assumed the ladies restroom to always be on the right side well this proved to be a very very wrong mistake. So I went right in, walked into a stall and did my thing, thinking "man it stinks in here, and that is a cool little chair to strap children in while you do your thing. That must be new because I haven't never seen anything like that before" Mean while someone came into the restroom to do thier thing and while HE was drying HIS hands and walking out of the restroom, I came out of the stall. I couldn't believe that a man was in the ladies room. I couldn't believe it. Then I saw them from the coner of my eye....THREE URNALS. I was horrified I couldn't believe I was in the MENS RESTROOM. I wanted to run out of the restroom so no one could see me but I didn't want to leave with out washing my handsbut that is gross..so I just thought I would rinse them really fast and just as I got them wet a boy walked in. (I think I kinda startled him)I smiled finished rinsing my hands then quickly left! I felt so dumb but oh well...what can ya do.

As it turns out, Wal-mart did not have the movie. And to make matters worse when I got out to the car the battery was dead and it was out of gas. Luckily Debbie doesn't live that far away from the wal-mart so she saved the day and brought gas, and Cameron brought the cabels to jump the car. And unfortunatly after all was well with the car it was to late to watch a movie. Next time I am sure things will go much smoother, but it was a real exciting night! One to definatly blog about and remember!!

Going to the temple...

I just love it!! I love it even more when David goes with me, but it is really fun when I go with friends too. So last week I decided that I needed to go to the temple because I haven't gone in a long while and nothing was going to stop me. Not the pile of homework, dirty dishes, hungry husband, not the late night off from work. Nothing was going to stop me. I had it all planned out. I wore a dress to work, I made sure I had my temple bag, I am sure that I left my wallet with my temple recommend in my backpack from the night before, I talked to Laura (my friend who lives above me) to make sure we would get there at the same time since I was going straight from work. It was all planned out. I was certain that Satan was not going to get the best of me this time. Well work went good we did get out a little late but it was nothing to worry about since I work only like 10 minutes from the temple. The traffic was wonderful, Laura and I got there about the same time, I got a front roll parking spot, and thinking to my self "wow, I got here in good time with a half hour to spare before the temple closes the doors for the night, I won't have to be in the last session. Satan didn't work very hard to not let me get to the temple tonight." Then it hit me....I had taken my wallet out of my book bag the night before and set it beside the couch and I didn't think about it because David had put his book bag on top of it so I didn't see it when I was going out the door on my way to work. I was so frustrated. I had wanted to go in the temple for so long and it felt like I wouldn't have enough time to drive home and make it back by 8, but I decided to try. And, Satan didn't get the best of me I made it home and back to the temple with 5 minutes to spare. Oh, and what a sweet feeling it was to sit in the temple.
I love the temple and the peace it brings and the feelings that I am left with when I leave!!

General Conference Anything....I love it!!!

So this last weekend was woman's general conference. Let me first tell you that Crown burger, they are doing the smart thing. For any car that wants to park in thier parking lot for any reason they have to pay for a 14 dollar food voucher that has to be used at thier resturant before the end of the night, so for 2 cars it was 28 bucks!! What smart people! Anyway, I went with my mother and my sister Keri. We had some awesome tickets. Never before have I gone in thinking that I would get to sit practically 15th row from the very very front! Every chaperon I talked to just kept saying.."go down". If I had really good vision I could have seen the sweat on the speakers faces. But even though I couldn't do that, I COULD see their feet shifting under them. I loved listening to all the speakers. But I will tell you my favorite part of going to the conference center. It is when the prophet walks in and the room stands and everyone goes completely silent. IT IS AMAZING!!! The spirit is so strong and it fills the whole room, and their is not one doubt in my mind that he is a true prophet of the Lord. AND My sister Debbie was so very fortunate to be able to sing in the stake choir that sang during the session, which was so cool I saw her TWICE on the big screen TV in the conference center. She told me that during their choir practice someone told her that for every person singing there are three angels standing around them, and I believe it. They sounded so good. After the session Keri, my mom, and I went to crown burger that is about a block away had some dinner and then I headed back to provo. It was such a fun night!

Date nights.....I love them!!!

So last night our friends Justin and Tawsha invited us to go see a comedian in Sandy. They are such a fun couple and we love doing things with them. I was glad that they invited us to go. I had never been to any kind of comedian show before so I wanted to go really bad. The comedian was Jason Hewlette (spell check). He is from Utah and his show was pretty funny!
For most of his show he did singing musical impressions, which was pretty funny, but the end was the best. He is able to move his face in crazy different ways and he encouraged us all to go home and try...so I did! (that is what the pictures are all about!) But he talked about going to the dentist and how he likes to mess with them with his facial expressions. Okay I am not doing it justice at all, but just take my word for it. It was so funny!
These pictures kind of show what he is able to do with his face, but he does it fast and so much better! It was funny!

Just a thought....

Before we were married!

When we got married!

Here we are now! Happy as can be!!

I don't know what it is, but lately I have been getting the question "So how long you been married?" I don't know if I just haven't noticed it much in the past or what but I think I got ask by 3 or 4 different people all in one day. Which just got me thinking. I have been married 1 year, 8 months, 3 weeks, and 1 day. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I still feel like it was yesterday that I got married but then at the same time I feel that being Smedley has always been a part of me. I have that "I feel like I am complete" feeling, I have my other half, and it feels good. I have a better understanding of the saying "my better half" that is exactly what David is. He makes me want to be a better person and he is always pushing me to do better and be better. He has always been someone for me to lean on in hard time, and a shoulder to cry on. He always finds a way to make me smile when I am feeling down and is appreciative of the things that I do for him. David and I have had our hard times and we have had our good times. We have done some fun things, and we have done some not so fun things. Our first year was not easy, but I am happy to announce that we made it through and have come out an even happier couple. More in love than the day we said yes. I can't believe how much time has flow by. I am grateful for David and the man that he is.

Come what may, rain or shine, I can handle anything with David by my side!

Can I just tell you how wonderful our neighbors are....

Well when David was worshiping our porcelain thrown I was up in West Point visiting family. David was supposed to come meet me in Salt Lake after he was done with his class, but due to his poor health and lack of immobility from our thrown he was stuck at home.

Well, around 10:30, just as David was about to leave Mark and Laura from up stairs came to drop off some treats to us. They saw how horrible David looked and felt, and he explained what he was just about to do. He asked Mark and Jeff (from downstairs) if they would give him a blessing, and they did. Then he was going to be on his way but.......

Mark and Laura wouldn't let him drive that far. Thank heavens! He wouldn't have been able to drive 1 mile without stopping to throw up. So Laura volunteered to come pick me up 30 minutes away, by herself, at night just because she is so sweet! and Mark stayed with David to make sure he would be alright until Laura and I got back!

How sweet and wonderful are they!!!
We couldn't have asked for better neighbors!!
We are so grateful for all of our neighbors
and friends that we have made while living here!
We have been so blessed!!
